Have you ever had one of those days when nothing seems to go right? Here’s what you can do about it.
- Accept that, sometimes, you’ll have a bad day
Don’t be too hard on yourself, don’t stress about it too much, and believe that tomorrow will be better. Chances are, it will. - Plan something to look forward to tomorrow
Focus your mind on a massage, a good meal or coffee with a friend – anything to pick you back up. - Move your body and get into nature
Ride a bike, take a walk, join an exercise class or do a simple stretch – and feel the endorphins take over. Bonus points if you head to a green space, where you can breathe fresh air or interact with nature. - Talk to a friend or loved one
The worst place to get stuck when you’re having a bad day is in your own mind. Call a friend and get it off your chest. A fresh perspective is what you need. Or try hugging someone you love. - Write down some positive truths
These will help you to maintain perspective. For example: “I’m still healthy, intelligent and crea-tive. This doesn’t have to define me”. Or “I’m grateful for my family”. - Be mindful of what media you consume
If you’re feeling poorly, ask yourself what you may’ve taken in that could’ve shaped this feeling, and avoid expos- ing yourself to negative feed. This could cut down your screen time too!
Bottom line
One bad day doesn’t define your life, your value as a human being or your iden-tity. Understanding this is key to learning from the experience, and, if possible, turning it around.
