But they\u2019re not always easy to meet. Here are some tips for making your goals a little more achievable.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Write down your goal in a journal or on a board, or stick it on the fridge<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">This will make it more real, remind you about what you want to achieve, and keep you consistent.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Next to your goal, write down your \u2018why\u2019<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Knowing the reason why you\u2019re doing something will help you when you start to lose motivation.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Have everything in place before you start<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Doing your prep will help to remove any obstacles that may prevent progress once you start. Break the process down into daily, weekly or monthly tasks. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Have a plan ready for the bad days<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Life happens. People get sick, emergencies occur, and sometimes responsibilities take priority over personal goals. Having a contingency plan for when you can\u2019t meet your daily quota will prevent you from falling off the schedule completely.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Monitor and adjust<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Once you\u2019re a few weeks in, take a look at the bigger picture and determine whether there\u2019s something you\u2019d like to change that could improve the long-term mission.<\/p>\n<p>Some goals can be achieved in a relatively short amount of time; others take longer.
